CONTENTS LIST FOR FAQS AND RULES
Getting started Getting started Each player must choose a suitable Lucky 7's team name for using in the League and Cup tables, only one team per valid email address. Enter your team name and email address on the Registration form, you'll then be sent a password allowing you to log in and pick your selections. Try and win as many points as you can in a season to hopefully win promotion from the lower divisions, with an eventual aim to compete in the Premier League. Promotion and relegation takes place at the end of each season, the top 4 highest point scoring teams are promoted and the 4 lowest point scoring teams are relegated. There are also 4 additional honours to compete for throughout the season, Team of the Season, FA Cup, Champions Cup and Loyalty Cup. How does it work? Up to 30 (3 sets of 10 where available) football fixtures are selected each week from a wide range including all English Leagues & Cup competitions, Champions League & UEFA cup competitions, Internationals, Scottish League & Cups and from other major European club leagues. Each Matchday you pick 7 teams you think will win you the most points from a set of 10 fixtures, each Matchday can have up to 3 SETS of 10 fixtures to choose from. Pick your 7 teams from any ONE SET, or as instructed if you need to catch up. One SET of selections submitted = 1 game played. The weekly deadline for entering your selections will normally be on a Saturday at 12 noon (GMT). Once the results of all fixtures in each set are known, scores will be calculated and added to the Lucky 7's league and cup tables. Point scores are: 3 points for each correctly predicted win. (+1 point bonus for each/any hat-trick scored) (+7 points bonus awarded for picking 7 winning teams) 1 point for a draw (+1 point bonus for each/any hat-trick) 0 points for a loss (+1 point bonus for each/any hat-trick) Bonus points are only awarded for picking 7 winning teams and also results where a single player has scored 3 or more goals from a team you picked. What if I want to join when a season has already started? No problem! it's easy to catch up, just submit more than 1 set
of selections each matchday, until your team has played the correct amount
of games, this is referred to as 'playing catch up'. However, the later
in a season you join, the less chance your team will have to 'catch up',
but your score might just be enough to get your team qualified for one
of the following seasons additional cup competitions. Failure to submit and 'catching up' At the end of each Season, any teams that have failed to submit selections for the last 8 consecutive matchdays without prior notice will be considered abandoned and the team will be retired. All teams will need to play at least 7 games during a full Season to prevent being relegated to the lowest league. Any teams who miss a matchday can 'catch up' by submitting an extra SET of selections on a later matchday. Selecting regularly from each Matchday gives you the maximum choice of up to 3 SETS to choose from. If you do miss a Matchday, you may forfeit a place in one of the cup competitions or have to choose from unfamiliar fixtures in order to 'catch up'. How you play it is up to you, I can only advise you to to pick regularly allowing you maximum choice each week. I will send out a weekly email to remind all managers who haven't picked selections. If you'd prefer not to be receive these reminders, please let me know and I'll remove you from the list. If it's possible, please could you inform me if you will be away for any length of time, as I can sometimes arrange advanced fixture lists for you to pick from, allowing for holidays etc. Any fixture lists supplied in advance are subject to change. Submissions and can I change my selections? Please submit your selections by the deadline times clearly stated on all submission forms. Any selections submitted after the stated time will be disregarded and deemed VOID. You can change/update your selections at any time up until the stated entry deadline, therefore only your most recent updated selections will apply. Lucky 7's league tables and teams with equal points A new Division will be added at the end of season if there are more than 20 teams in the bottom Division to accommodate new interest, all new teams will begin in the lowest League. The Lucky 7's League tables have been created to add all the thrills of a promotion chase or relegation battle. All team achievements will be recorded in the History and Honours section. In the event of two or more teams sharing the same points, position will be given to the team with most wins, then most draws. If there are two or more teams with identical records at the end of season in a promotion or relegation position, the longest serving team (ie the season a team joined) will be used and if it's still level your previous seasons score will be used to hopefully determine the position. Submitting more than 1 SET and in a Cup competition If you submit more than 1 SET of selections and your team is also involved in a cup competition on that Matchday, use the 'Questions or Comments' text input area on the submission form to tell me which SET number you wish to use for your Cup point scores. If you do not express your preference, SET 1 (if used) will determine your cup scores, otherwise it will be SET 2. How long is a Season? Each season will last for 20 Matchdays (20 weeks), normally Aug ~ Dec and then Jan ~ May. 20 games are required to complete the full season. The Matchday schedule is posted in the Forums. Cup games played over 1 and 2 legs 1 leg games (eg early rounds Carling Cup) 2 legged games (eg Champions League ko stage) Postponed matches If you selected a fixture that gets postponed for any reason (including rescheduled games), the result will be deemed a 0-0 draw for Lucky 7's scoring purposes. If for any reason more than 4 of 10 fixtures in any one SET are postponed, your point scores will count towards any Cup competitions you may be in, however for League purposes, you have the option to keep or scrap your points. Unless you request to keep your scores before the following matchday, your points scored will be scrapped giving you the chance to pick another set on another Matchday. If a fixture is postponed but is then rescheduled and played before the following Matchday the rescheduled result will count. Abandoned matches If at least 60 minutes of a fixture has been played, the score at the time of abandonment will stand (for Lucky 7's scoring purposes). If the fixture is abandoned inside 60 minutes it will be treated as a postponed game and a 0-0 draw will apply (for Lucky 7's scoring purposes).
